The Business Mentor Team (also known as BMT) is a group of volunteer seasoned entrepreneurs with experience, skills and education in all aspects of small business ownership, operation and execution. Simply put, we’re here to help.
WHAT WE DO
We provide targeted one-on-one mentoring to owners and executives of small businesses to help them achieve their dreams. Our team members have experience in sales, marketing, accounting, acquisitions, banking, business planning, finance, management, mergers, operations, team building, and every other major business area.
WHERE WE WORK
Since we’re headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, many of our mentees are business owners across the state of Arizona. Using today’s advanced technology, we can work with owners across the United States.

ACCOUNTING
Many BMT mentors have a solid background in accounting, some are CPAs. They have a solid understanding of what good accounting records should include and often a working knowledge of popular accounting software like QuickBooks.
BUSINESS PLANNING
BMT’s mentors are often C-level executives with a firm belief that “planning” at all levels is a necessity. They possess experience in all types of plans including: strategic, marketing, sales, operating and financial. They have the insight and ability to help define the essence of a business and articulate its vision, mission and strategy.
FINANCIAL
Business by definition have three critical objectives: Find customers, keep customers and stay financially viable. The BMT mentor group has solid experience in financial disciplines including cash management, financial modeling and business dashboards.
MARKETING
Marketing and sales are joined at the hip and reside on the same continuum. A common description of their intersection is the sales lead: marketing finds and presents “lead”; sales closes. BMT has a cadre of marketing expertise to help identify target markets, create a strategy to penetrate them and support sales initiates.
OPERATIONS
Finding customers is about sales and marketing; keeping customers is about operations. Customer experience, employee engagement, continuous improvement are concepts BMT mentors have experience with. Such skills and knowledge are critical to small business owners and executives.
SALES
Sales as a key partner with marketing is one of the most important functions in growing a business. There is a reason why collages don’t offer a degree in sales; it is all about experience. The experience of the sales executives on the BMT can provide invaluable insight and guidance in growing sales.
